SHS grad earns Eagle Scout award

Mason Moen, son of Dawn and Guy Moen, received his Eagle Scout award during a Court of Honor held June 7 in Kress Hall at Cathedral of Christ the King in Superior.

Mason, 18, began scouting in first grade as a Tiger Cub Scout with Pack 204 at Cathedral School. After receiving his Arrow of Light, he joined Boy Scout Troop 204 sponsored by Cathedral of Christ the King.

In 2012, Mason joined Troop 213 sponsored by Concordia Lutheran Church as a Tenderfoot and advanced to the rank of Life Scout. He has held the positions of librarian and assistant senior patrol leader. He has earned 26 merit badges.

His Eagle Scout project involved building eight new flower boxes for Cathedral of Christ the King Church.

Mason is a recent graduate of Superior High School and enrolled at the University of Minnesota Duluth, where he will major in business.
