Northwestern students to compete in Georgia

In mid-March, Northwestern DECA (an association of marketing students) brought 16 students to the DECA State Development Conference at the Grand Geneva Resort in Lake Geneva, Wis.

In mid-March, Northwestern DECA (an association of marketing students) brought 16 students to the DECA State Development Conference at the Grand Geneva Resort in Lake Geneva, Wis.
Six members advanced to the next level of competition. The international competition will be held in early May in Atlanta, Ga.
The DECA members who advanced include:
• Paige Orlowski earned sixth place in a marketing education presentation as well as principles of finance.
• Tyler Blair placed second for his entrepreneurship promotion project.
• David Rautio and Kaddie Levine earned fifth place in team travel and tourism.
• Luke Freeman and Jeb Pflug placed fourth for their financial literacy promotion project.
Also at state competition junior David Rautio was elected as a Wisconsin DECA state officer for the position of vice president of brand management. As such, he is in charge of promoting Wisconsin DECA, primarily through their social media pages.
Also competing at state competition for the Northwestern DECA chapter were Matt Lindsey, Mike Lindsey, Ricky Schiff, Mason Lombard, Mitch Graskey, Brandee Dittbrender, Macy Meteraud, Carmen Ormston, Jordynn Tribbey and Connor Smith.
