Superior and Douglas County employees did more than a little hair-raising at their Halloween Luncheon on Thursday, Oct. 31.
They did some fundraising.
City and county employees raised $470 to help St. Vincent de Paul by charging $5 for the meal and through a raffle for prizes donated by employees and local businesses.
“We chose St. Vincent de Paul because they help so many people in the community with housing, transportation, food, medical and clothing,” said Jean Dotterwick of the city’s finance department. “We also asked employees to bring canned goods for St. Vincent and they didn’t disappoint.”
Since the inception of the city-county luncheons, employees have raised more than $9,000 for organizations in the community.
