An old-fashioned ice cream social is planned by a local Superior chapter of Wisconsin PEO, according to Jeanne Hopkins, chairperson of the August event, which will be held in Lake Nebagamon. The cost is $5.
According to Hopkins, host Chapter AD-BG will be among six chapters which will gather at the Lake Nebagamon Auditorium on Tuesday, Aug. 13, beginning at 1 p.m. for an afternoon of sisterhood, fun and entertainment.
Two other chapters, E and BU from Superior, along with EL from Ashland, DM from Hayward and Z from Rice Lake, plan to attend.
PEO is a philanthropic educational organization open to women 18 years and older with members spanning the U.S. and Canada with over 230,000 members.
Linda Heisel, president of Chapter AD-BG, said socials like this one bring about a lot of goodwill as well as ideas for then recruitment of new members and fundraising ideas to explore to aid the many programs PEO offers.
