Nonprofit groups seeking funds for work benefitting the arts, culture, economic development and other services may submit grant requests by Oct. 1 to the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation.

Nonprofits are eligible if they are located or providing services in the nine-county region served by the foundation, a permanent endowment built by gifts from hundreds of individuals and organizations. Among the funds issuing grants is the Duluth Legacy Endowment Fund, established to promote public giving benefiting public purposes in the City of Duluth.

Applicants interested in foundation grants should first submit an inquiry through www.dsacommunityfoundation.com . The site has more information about specific funds issuing grants and eligibility requirements. The Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation promotes private giving for the public good. The Community Foundation is a permanent community endowment, built by gifts from hundreds of individuals and organizations. Guided by a 12-member board of volunteer civic leaders, the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation makes grants to nonprofit organizations and individuals for scholarships, and provides leadership on important community initiatives in northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.
