Army Reserve Lt. Col. James R. Joos has been decorated with the Bronze Star Medal for participating in Operation Iraqi Freedom.
The colonel, a civil affairs officer with 17 years of military service, is assigned to the 404th Civil Affairs Battalion at Fort Dix near Trenton, N.J.
He is the brother of Derald and Juliz Joos of Superior.
Joos is a 1983 graduate of Superior Senior High School.
