Fairlawn Mansion Exterior

Painting and Reroofing

Sealed bids will be received by the City of Superior, Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department at 1316 North 14th Street - 2nd Floor, Suite 200, Attn: Contract Analyst, Superior, WI 54880. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud in the City offices as follows:

Bid Opening: Friday, February 1, 2019 at 2:00 PM

Bid Project: The City of Superior is requesting sealed bids from qualified contractors for the complete replacement of the asphalt shingle roof and repairs to wood cladding and trims at the turret at the Fairlawn Mansion, located at 906 East 2nd Street, Superior, WI. Bid alternates are included that extend the scope to include repainting. Separate bid alternates provide for painting the exterior in its entirety, and for painting each faade individually. The Fairlawn Mansion is a historic building. Specific methods for overall cleaning, hand-scraping, hand-sanding, priming, repainting, wood repair, removal of asphalt shingles, inspection, roof repair and shingling are detailed in the project manual.

All bids must be prepared on the form provided and submitted in accordance to the Instructions to Bidder.

Bidding documents may be viewed at the Contract Analyst, Government Center, 1316 North 14th Street - 2nd Floor, Superior, Wisconsin (715-395-7557), at the Duluth Builders Exchange and the Builders Exchange of Wisconsin.

The contractor shall submit a list of his subcontractors as a part of his proposal, which list shall not be added to or altered without the written consent of the City of Superior, and as specified in 66.0901 Wisconsin Statutes.

The City of Superior encourages the participation of women and minority owned businesses.

The City of Superior reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive irregularities, or to accept such bids, as in the opinion of the City, will be in its best interests.
