Tony Tracy's final shows at DCHS
The Christmas Musicale, now in its fourth year, was created by Director Tony Tracy as a fundraiser for the Douglas County Historical Society.
This year's show will be Tracy's last after the historical society board eliminated his position starting in 2019.
Tracy said he originally wanted to create a Christmas show with an an old-fashioned Norman Rockwell-feel, a time when ornate displays decorated downtown as people walked below.
"I wanted to build that into a feeling that people could have so we started doing this musicale, which is area talent," Tracy said. The show, which begins at 7 p.m. Dec. 21, features youth in high school and younger, and other area singers, performing classic Christmas songs.
"The crowd just love it," Tracy said. "We have hot chocolate, coffee and goodies, and it's really a fun time."
Tickets are $10. Call 715-392-8449 or stop by DCHS at 1101 John Ave., or visit "events" at douglashistory.org for tickets.
The fifth annual Vintage Christmas Movie Matinee also begins at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15 and is free.
