Program highlights Superior response to 1918 fires
The Carlton County Historical Society hosts a program by retired Superior firefighter Dave Johnson highlighting Superior's role in aiding victims of the 1918 fires at its museum in Cloquet at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8.
Johnson, representing the Douglas County Genealogy Club, has been active in Superior's Old Firehouse and Police Museum. His program tells the story of Superior's help in assisting and housing 1918 fire refugees who arrived by train from burned out areas in northern Minnesota.
Refreshments will be served.
Admission is $3 for adults, $1 for children under 12, and free for children under age 5 and Carlton County Historical Society members. The museum is handicapped accessible.
