Meet the presidents of Mount Rushmore live this July 4.

The Richard I. Bong Veterans Historical Center and Inter City Oil present four living history re-enactors performing as Presidents George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson and Teddy Roosevelt.

The presidents will be highlighted in the Superior Fourth of July parade to start the day, then return to the Bong Center to start their programs at 1:30 p.m.

This program is an outgrowth from the "Roosevelts Live" hosted by the center last year.

Adam Lindquist, who portrays President Roosevelt, was part of the event last year and said he is excited to be part of bringing Mount Rushmore to life for the Northland.

“To bring this group together for the first time is seriously … the coolest thing ever,” Lindquist said.

John Voehl, who plays Lincoln, is coming from Colorado. Ken Hammontree from Ohio plays Washington and Tony Filitovich, a retired professor from Mankato, Minnesota, is “the spitting image of Thomas Jefferson,” Lindquist said.

“We tried to bring this program together when I worked in Northfield, but were just not able to pull the funding together,” said Hayes Scriven, director of the Bong Center.

On July 4, the Center will be free all day and open late, in part because of ICO’s support of this program.

Washington and Roosevelt present 1:30-2 p.m., followed by Lincoln and Jefferson 2:30-3 p.m. Then Roosevelt and Jefferson present 3:30-4 p.m. and Washington and Lincoln 4:30-5 p.m. There will be opportunities for photographs and interactions with the re-enactors in between each session.
