The Friends of the Library held its annual meeting May 17. They gave the library a check for $12,000 for library materials. The Volunteer of the Year award was given to Becky Erlenbach. She was chair of the book sale, has been the secretary to the Friends board, and she has been especially good at writing wonderful thank you notes. So now we wish to thank her!

The library has some very old books that were part of several personal library collections given to the library many years ago. We will be selectively selling some of them soon. If you would like a list of titles, please contact me. If interested, we can make arrangements to show them to you.

The library will be closed Saturday-Monday for the Memorial Day holiday.

There are two interesting free programs coming up at the library. Amy Kunkel will give a program on Social Security, including disability, retirement and Medicare 6-7 p.m. June 8. Michael Jaszczak, Financial Crimes Investigator for the Superior Police Department, will talk about identity theft and how to protect yourself at 4:30 p.m. June 10.

The Farmer's Market will be in the library parking lot on the Belknap side from 1-5 p.m. every Wednesday starting June 9 and running through Oct. 30. Come and check out the fresh, locally grown produce and visit the library, too!
