Time is running out to register for the Superior Police Department's 11th annual Citizens' Police Academy.
The eight-week, nine-session program begins March 21 and offers residents information on many law enforcement topics as well as hands-on class experience. Officers, evidence technicians, supervisors and detectives become teachers to give the community a better understanding of the true nature of police work.
The classes run from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. each Wednesday, with one session on a Saturday morning.
Candidates must complete an application, live or work in Superior and be at least 21 years old. They also must pass a basic background check and have no prior felony convictions or habitual violations.
The class is free but is limited to 25 participants. The application deadline is Friday.
