North Country Independent Living is getting behind a plan to building an all-abilities park in Superior during its Expo 2019 on Thursday, July 25.
The expo, which runs from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Mariner Retail and Business Center, features food, exhibits by local artisans, businesses and community organizations, a silent auction, prizes and more. Free admission includes lunch and light refreshments. There will be games and activities for the kids, and it’s a chance to check out the organization’s all-terrain track chair.
Entertainers take the stage starting at 11:30 a.m. and include recording artist Gaelyn Lee, Choice Unlimited, StoneHouse Martial Arts Troupe, Sahima Fusion Belly Dancers, Hanna Rey and many more.
More than $5,000 worth of prizes will be raffled or sold at silent auction including a beautiful handcrafted quilt, hotel stays, a Superior YMCA membership, North Shore Scenic Railroad family passes, and food and beverage gift certificates.
This year money raised will help fund the Webster Dream Park, the planned all-abilities playground in South Superior.
