Superior: Applebee’s in Superior will donate 15% of every check to the Humane Society of Douglas County through Oct. 31. People can order online or call their orders in. Participants must bring a paper copy of the flyer from the humane society’s website, or show a digital picture to the cashier when you pick up your order.

Superior: The Douglas County Drug Prevention Coalition will hold a Drug Take Back Day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Superior Public Library, 1530 Tower Ave. Anyone can drop off unwanted prescription and over-the-counter medications for safe disposal. Deterra bags for at-home deactivation and disposal of unused medications will also be available.

Superior: The Douglas County Historical Society will host a craft fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 1101 John Ave.

Iron River: Explore the creation of a self-guided auto tour of the Northwest Sands from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Iron River Community Center, 8275 E. Mill St. The Northwest Sands stretch from Madeline Island to the Mississippi River and includes portions of Douglas and Bayfield counties. Superior: The Superior Douglas County YMCA has partnered with Every Meal to provide free nonperishable food bags to people in need in the community. Drive-thru distribution will take place from 10 a.m. to noon at the Y's south entrance.

Superior: Lego Club at the Superior Public Library meets from 4-6 p.m. Children are invited to build something amazing from the library's huge collection of Legos. Masks are required to participate in Lego Club.

Superior: Superior Public Library hosts Storytime in the Park at 10:30 a.m. in Pavilion 2 at Billings Park. The weekly event includes stories, crafts and fun for children.

Superior: The Downtown Farmers Market runs 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot in the 1200 block of Banks Avenue.

Thursday, Oct. 28

Virtual: A free presentation to help guide families through the transition from child-centered to adult mental health systems, "Bridging the Gap," takes place from 6-7 p.m. through Zoom. Coordinated by the Western and Northern Regional Centers for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs, the training is available for families as well as educators and other professionals.
