Superior: Applebee’s in Superior will donate 15% of every check to the Humane Society of Douglas County through Oct. 31. People can order online or call their orders in. Participants must bring a paper copy of the flyer from the humane society’s website, or show a digital picture to the cashier when you pick up your order.

Superior: Barker’s Island Farmers Market runs 9 a.m. to noon near the SS Meteor.

Superior: The Superior Douglas County YMCA has partnered with Every Meal to provide free nonperishable food bags to people in need in the community. Drive-thru distribution will take place from 10 a.m. to noon at the Y's south entrance.

Superior: Lego Club at the Superior Public Library meets from 4-6 p.m. Children are invited to build something amazing from the library's huge collection of Legos. Masks are required to participate in Lego Club.

Superior: Superior Public Library hosts Storytime in the Park at 10:30 a.m. in Pavilion 2 at Billings Park. The weekly event includes stories, crafts and fun for children.

Wednesday, Oct. 20

Superior: The Downtown Farmers Market runs 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot in the 1200 block of Banks Avenue.

Thursday, Oct. 21

Superior: The Superior Douglas County YMCA has partnered with Every Meal to provide free nonperishable food bags to people in need in the community. Bags will be available from 4-6 p.m. in the lobby.

Friday, Oct. 22

Superior: The Douglas County Drug Prevention Coalition will hold a Drug Take Back Day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Superior Public Library, 1530 Tower Ave. Anyone can drop off unwanted prescription and over-the-counter medications for safe disposal. Deterra bags for at-home deactivation and disposal of unused medications will also be available.
