Superior: Superior Porchfest hosts a pop-up concert from 6-8 p.m. in the Village of Superior. John Seguin and Boomstick Acoustic will perform at 7613 John Ave.; Reagan Kern and Abrianna Schmidt will be playing at 7615 John Ave.; and Jake Searl of the Curellis will perform at 7620 John Ave. The concerts were originally scheduled for Aug. 26, but organizers moved them because of poor air quality and a chance of rain. Superior: Great Northern Classic Rodeo kicks off at 7 p.m. with mutton bustin' during intermission. General admission tickets are $14 in advance or $15 at the gate for adults; $7 in advance for seniors age 65 or over and children ages 6-12 or $8 at the gate; $8 in advance for members of the military or $9 at the gate; children 5 and under are free. Superior: The Superior Flame and The Main Club host the Duluth Superior Pride's Block Party starting at 9 p.m. A $10 cover will get attendees entry into both bars for the night, with all of the door charge going to Duluth Superior Pride.

Superior: The 23rd annual Cause for the Paws 5K walk/run will be held on the Osaugie Trail, starting near the entrance to Barker’s Island, at 9 a.m. Registration begins at 8 a.m. Proof of rabies vaccination required to walk/run with a dog. Registration fee is $40 for an individual and up to two dogs, $95 for a family and up to two dogs. Virtual participation is also available. Register online at https://CFP2021.givesmart.com. Funds raised will be used to house, feed and care for animals at the Humane Society of Douglas County.
