Iron River: The Wisconsin National Guard will be assisting with drive-thru COVID-19 testing from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Iron River Community Center, 8275 E. Mill St. Anyone age 5 and older, symptomatic and asymptomatic, can receive the free test. Register ahead of time online at https://register.covidconnect.wi.gov or at the testing site.

Superior: The Small Business Development Center at UW-Superior will host a free seminar titled “First steps to starting a food product business” from 6-8 p.m. The virtual event will feature chef Arlene Coco, a long-time food business owner and culinary innovation strategist. Coco will help participants understand how to start a business before they start their journeys, including establishing a niche and conducting market research to ensure a competitive advantage; writing a business plan; learning the responsibilities and regulatory requirements of the product they produce; and recordkeeping. Superior: WITC-Superior is hosting a drive-thru event from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for people interested in learning more about its programs and course offerings. Participants will receive a free bag with program and financial aid information, as well as a voucher to cover the WITC application fee and other freebies. Virtual: The Superior Public Library hosts its monthly Bookworms Book Club for kids meeting at 2 p.m. via Zoom. They will discuss “Fish in a Tree” by Lynda Mullaly Hunt. Copies of the book can be checked out from the library. Send an email to wiisanenk@superiorlibrary.org to register.

Virtual: Lake Superior Writers will host Superior Shares, a virtual open mic, from 6-7 p.m. Free and open to both members and nonmembers. Ten five-minute reading slots are available on a first come, first served basis. Readers are asked to limit adult content and language. Graphic content is prohibited.
