Superior: The Wisconsin National Guard will be assisting with drive-thru COVID-19 testing from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Amsoil Distribution Center, 1101 Susquehanna Ave. Participants can register online at https://register.covidconnect.wi.gov. Testing will also take place Feb. 26 at the same time and location.
Saturday, Feb. 13
Superior: The Lake Superior Ice Racing Association will host the Souptown Showdown at noon on Allouez Bay. Cars and trucks will ice race, and the action is free to watch. People are welcome to stay in their vehicles to enjoy the show.
Superior: The U.S. Ice Racing Association and Mont du Lac Resort will host the ATSX250 Ice Cross World Championship from noon to 7 p.m. at Mont du Lac Resort. There is no cost to attend. More information is available on Facebook.

Superior: An American Cross Blood Drive will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Superior-Douglas County Family YMCA, 9 N. 21st St. Visit RedCrossBlood.org, call 1-800-733-2767 or download the Red Cross Blood Donor App to make an appointment to give blood.

Iron River: The Wisconsin National Guard will be assisting with drive-thru COVID-19 testing from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Iron River Community Center, 8275 E. Mill St. Anyone age 5 and older, symptomatic and asymptomatic, can receive the free test. Register ahead of time online at https://register.covidconnect.wi.gov or at the testing site. An additional testing date will be held March 5 at the same time and location.

Superior: The Superior Public Library’s virtual book club for adults will meet at 6 p.m. to discuss “The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry” by Rachel Joyce. Find a link to the discussion at superiorlibrary.org. Copies of the book are available for check-out at the library. Patrons can call to request a copy and pick it up using the library’s curbside service.
Superior: Superior Area Professionals are hosting a winter clothing and supply drive for the Ruth House through Feb. 12. Community members are asked to donate gently used clothes, winter gear and other items to support the services Ruth House offers. Items may be dropped off at Fairlawn Mansion, Dodgie’s East End Tavern, Yellowjacket Union, Best Western Bridgeview and the Edward Jones office of Robyn Lings and Jason Rolfe.
Superior: The annual Love Your Local Artist fundraiser benefiting Superior Public Library programs and services will be held online because of the COVID-19 pandemic. An online auction featuring locally-made art will be available from Feb. 8-19 at superiorlibrary.org, as well as profiles of the artists and a slideshow of images from previous LYLA events.
