A drive-thru job fair will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17 at Superior Public Library, 1530 Tower Ave.
Job seekers can stay in their cars and collect job posting packets during the event. It is one of 19 drive-thru job fairs that will be taking place statewide.
The Northwest Wisconsin Workforce Investment Board hosted similar job fairs in Ashland and Phillips in July. Scott Schultz, director of industry and innovation at the board, said they distributed 120 packets in Ashland and 85 in Phillips.
Job seekers don’t need to bring anything with them or register ahead of time. Following the traffic flow, they will drive past, roll down their window and receive a packet. Vehicles should enter the parking lot from Tower Avenue and exit onto North 16th Street.
“Job Seekers can expect to receive job applications, recruitment flyers and information from industries from across the board,” Schultz said. “We currently have tech, food service, manufacturing, health care, transportation and retail that will be promoting their open positions.”
Currently, 15 employers are participating in the event. There is still time for additional employers to join the job fair. Interested employers can register online and mail 150 copies of their favorite recruitment flyer to 422 W. Third St., Ashland, WI, 54806.
The Northwest Wisconsin Workforce Investment Board will create 150 individual packets containing a flyer from each employer. On Sept. 17, all of those packets will be headed to Superior for distribution to job seekers.
