Superior: Border Town Betties host a racial equity workshop from 1-3 p.m. at Empire Coffee. The first hour will feature speakers discussing their experiences. The second hour will feature an organized discussion. There will be activities for children, as well.

Wednesday, March 11

Superior: The Superior YMCA will collect new or gently-used clothing to support individuals and families year-round during regular business hours through March 11. Items needed include: youth and adult clothing, pants and shorts, sweatshirts, t-shirts, all types of outerwear, clean shoes and boots, hats, gloves, mittens, swimsuits. Undergarments, shoes and boots must be new with tags.

Superior: The Superior Public Library policy board meets at 3:30 p.m. and the full board meets at 4 p.m. in the boardroom of the library, 1530 Tower Ave.

Superior: Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Hospital hosts NAMI-Douglas County’s Connection Recovery Support Group from 5:30-7 p.m. The free, peer-led support group is for adults living with mental illness.

Superior: Cooper Elementary School hosts Screenagers the Next Chapter from 6-7:30 p.m. The film is the second in a series and explores solutions for improved adolescent well-being in the digital age.

Friday, March 13

Superior: Meet and Greet with Kalee Hermanson, District 1 City Council candidate, 6-8 p.m., Tavern 105. Residents of District 1 are invited to bring their questions and concerns, as well as to learn more about Hermanson.

Thursday, March 19

Superior: Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Hospital hosts NAMI-Douglas County’s Connection Recovery Support Group from 5:30-7 p.m. The free, peer-led support group is for adults living with mental illness.

Superior: The Alzheimer’s Association hosts “Effective Communication Strategies for People with Alzheimer’s” at the Superior Public Library at 6 p.m. The free program explores how communication takes place when someone has Alzheimer’s. Attendees will learn to decode the verbal and behavioral messages delivered by someone with dementia and identify strategies to help them connect and communicate at each stage of the disease. Attendees will get the first look at Superior Public Library’s new collection of memory kits, including how to check them out from the library.

Superior: Central High School class of 1957 meets at 11:45 a.m. at Fuller’s Restaurant for its monthly luncheon. All classmates, spouses and friends invited.
