A pair of fundraisers to support the Center Against Sexual and Domestic Abuse take place this weekend.

Applebee’s at 3605 Tower Ave., Superior, hosts a flapjack fundraiser from 8-10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19. CASDA advocates will be serving up a breakfast of pancakes, eggs, bacon or sausage, juice and coffee. TIckets are $10 and are being sold at CASDA. Call 715-392-3136 to get a ticket.

A “No Time to Spare” bowl-a-thon to strike out domestic violence takes place Sunday, Oct. 20, with games at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Cost is $75 for a five-person team. Registration includes lane, shoe rental, pizza and beverage. Prizes will be awarded. Bowlers can also collect additional pledges to help support CASDA’s mission and sustain CASDA’s services.

In 2018, law enforcement agencies responded to a total of 657 calls in Douglas County, nearly two per day. The Douglas County Sheriff's Department responded to 150 domestic violence related calls and the Superior Police Department received 507.

In addition, 487 children and adults received in-person services from CASDA and the agency answered 2,062 help-line calls in 2018.
