Bestselling Minnesota author Brian Freeman and former Wisconsin Poet Laureate Karla Huston will be among the authors featured at the Northland Fall Writers Conference from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 28 at the Solon Springs Community Center.

Freeman is known for psychological thrillers including the Jonathan Stride series set in Duluth. His books have been sold in 46 countries and 22 languages. He was recently selected to continue Robert Ludlum's Jason Bourne series, with a new Bourne novel due in 2020.

Huston is the author of eight chapbooks of poems and a former high school teacher. She is active in the Wisconsin writing community and beyond, including as a board member of the Council for Wisconsin Writers and as a staff reviewer for the "Library Journal."

Sponsored by the St. Croix Writers and Wisconsin Writers Association, the conference is a time to explore genres, benefit from professional manuscript editing , network with other local authors and be inspired.
