Library reconstruction bumpy but worthwhile journey

There's more carpet to remove at Superior Public Library, so there will be another temporary closure. We closed at 5:30 p.m. Thursday and won't reopen until 10 a.m. Saturday. The crew is almost finished with the demolition of the old young adult area — the future home of our new and improved Teen Focus area — and will be moving on to the Children's Room. This week, library staff has been hard at work moving all of the children's materials to temporary locations just outside the Children's Room. If you have trouble finding what you need, ask a librarian for help and we will be happy to help you find it.

Join us Feb. 20 for Tuesday Storytime at 10:30 a.m. in the Library's Chandelier area. Since we don't want to have boots and shoes on the new carpet, this will be a Cute Socks Storytime — wear your cutest and most creative socks, and you could win a prize. This will be our last Tuesday Storytime at the library for the time being because of construction in the Children's Room.

Starting Feb. 27, join us for storytime at 10:30 a.m. at the Billings Park Civic Center, 3903 N. 18th St.

The library's monthly book club is the perfect excuse to curl up with a good book. Book Club meets the first Tuesday of every month at 10:30 a.m. and all are welcome to attend. For our March 6 meeting, we're reading "Boundary Waters" by William Kent Krueger, a gripping mystery set in the unforgiving wilderness of northern Minnesota. Pick up a copy of the book at the Circulation Desk and join us for book club.

Spring is on the horizon but there's still plenty of time to join our Winter Reading Program for kids and teens. Pick up a winter reading bingo card at the library and complete the reading challenges to earn a bag of prizes. The Winter Reading Program ends March 18.
