An event to honor St. Mary's Hospital of Superior volunteers and announce scholarship recipients takes place during the annual recognition luncheon at Barker's Island Inn June 25.
Volunteers will be recognized for their hours of service and the nomination committee presents a slate of officers for the coming year.
Six scholarship recipients who are receiving $500 each for the coming school year will also be announced. All are working toward a career in the health field. The recipients, their fields of study and the schools they are attending are as follows:
- Sarah Johnson, nursing, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
- Kaitlyn Nielson, pathology, the College of St. Scholastica.
- Andrew Radzak, pharmacy, the University of Minnesota Duluth.
- Helen Severin, nursing, the College of St. Scholastica.
- Evan Strewler, physical therapy, the College of St. Scholastica.
- Nolan Van Damme, pharmacy, UMD.
