Superior: The Friends of the Lake Superior Reserve will host a beach clean up at Wisconsin Point from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The group will meet at the Lake Superior Reserve parking lot, 14 Marina Dr., and then head over to Wisconsin Point. Prizes will be given out for the most unique finds. Safety precautions such as mask wearing and social distancing will be in place. Washburn: Memorial Blood Center will host a blood drive from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Bayfield County Health Department, 117 E. 6th St., as the need for blood and platelets is urgent. MBC requires that all donors have their temperature checked when they arrive to give blood. Masks are required. Donors are advised to stay home and not give blood if they have experienced symptoms of COVID-19 in the previous 14 days, have had a positive COVID-19 test in the last 14 days or are currently on self-quarantine restrictions. Superior: The Superior Public Library is partnering with NAMI-Douglas County to host a free family and friends support group from 5:30-7 p.m. The session is designed for adult loved ones of individuals living with mental illness and is led by people who have family members living with mental illness. Participants who share their experiences in the safe and confidential setting gain hope and develop supportive relationships. Anyone with questions should email Cindy at cindym49@gmail.com.

Superior: The Lake Superior National Estuarine Research Reserve hosts an educational event called “Estuaries 101” from 12:30-3 p.m. at Wisconsin Point. Participants will join reserve staff on the waters of Allouez Bay to investigate and try to answer the following questions: What is an estuary and why are they so important?

Superior: The Superior chapter of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul will celebrate St. Vincent de Paul Day from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Cathedral of Christ the King. The event will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Superior’s Society of St. Vincent de Paul, as well as the 175th anniversary of the U.S. society. It features food, door prize drawings, a mile-long walk for the poor, awards for the adult and youth walkers who raise the most in sponsorships and a silent auction.
