Saturday, Nov. 28

Superior: North Country Holidays: Market & Musical Revue takes place from noon to 10 p.m. The holiday craft market runs from noon-5 p.m. with music from Aaron Tank from 1-4 p.m. There will be more than 20 local vendors on hand. The North Country Holiday Revue runs from 6-10 p.m. featuring music from local artists. Admission to the holiday revue is $7 for general admission and $50 for a reserved table under the heated tent. Attendees are asked to maintain 6 feet of social distance, wash your hands at hand washing stations, use hand sanitizer available, and keep children, cats and leashed dogs at their tables.

Wednesday, Dec. 2

Iron River: Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank will provide free boxes of food through the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program from 10-11 a.m. at the Iron River Community Center, 8275 E. Mill St., and 1-2 p.m. at the Bayfield County Garage, 311 S. First Ave. E., Washburn. The boxes will be distributed in a low-contact, drive-thru format. Face masks are required. There are no income or residency restrictions. The program provides mixed dairy, produce, meat and cheese from U.S. farmers.

Thursday, Dec. 3

Ashland: Free, drive-thru COVID-19 testing will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Ashland County Highway Garage, 3918 State Highway 13.

Superior: The Thaddeus Kosciuszko Fraternal Aid Society (Polish Club) meets at 6:30 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 1710 N. 12th St.

Friday, Dec. 4

Superior: Free, drive-thru COVID-19 testing will take place at the AMSOIL Distribution Center, 1101 Susquehanna Ave., from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Superior: The Superior Douglas County YMCA will host a blood drive in partnership with the American Red Cross from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. All blood donated will be tested for COVID-19 antibodies. No walk-in appointments will be accepted. Donors must register in advance by visiting redcrossblood.org and typing 54880 in the “Find a Blood Drive” box in the top right corner of the page.

Superior: The Friends of Superior Public Library will hold their annual Merry Little Christmas Book Sale from noon to 5 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Superior Public Library. Masks and social distancing will be enforced. The library will be open to book sale shoppers only during the sale; no library services will be available. A limited number of shoppers will be allowed to enter at one time.

Bayfield: Free, drive-thru COVID-19 testing will take place at the Red Cliff Clinic, 36745 Aiken Road, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Tuesday, Dec. 8

Superior: The University of Wisconsin-Superior Music Department will host a free virtual winter concert showcasing the symphonic band and percussion ensemble at 7:30 p.m. Register online at https://cvent.me/0ln0W1 for a free video link to the performance. Iron River: Free, drive-thru COVID-19 testing will take place at the Iron River Community Center, 8275 Mill St., from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Friday, Dec. 11

Superior: Find the Art in Nature with Lake Superior Estuarine Research Reserve staff 1-3 p.m. on Wisconsin Point. The educational event is for students grade 6-8; register at www.lakesuperiorreserve.org .

Saturday, Dec. 12

Superior: Junk and Disorderly on the South Side, 6004 Tower Ave., will host a Mistletoe Market from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The outdoor market will feature local vendors, makers and bakers; holiday music; and refreshments.

Fundraisers

Tuesday, Dec. 1, to Sunday, Dec. 6

Superior: Fairlawn Mansion is hosting a virtual Holiday Sampler fundraiser, complete with live music, a silent auction and adult beverages. The silent auction opens on Dec. 1. On Dec. 3, Thirsty Pagan Brewery will contribute $1 from each pint sold to Fairlawn Mansion. Also on Dec. 3, there will be a private Facebook Live concert from 6:30-8:30 p.m. featuring Nick and Ren from One Less Guest. Purchase tickets online at www.superiorpublicmuseums.org. Visit “Book Your Tour Today” and select “Nick and Ren from One Less Guest Concert." The cost is $15 for general admission or $40 VIP, which includes a signed copy of their first album.

Saturday, Dec. 5

Superior: The UW-Superior Alumni Association will host a virtual Holiday Ball. Social will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by the live program from 6-7 p.m. There is no charge to attend the event, but a credit card is required to register. Attendees will be able to bid on silent auction items and donate to the university. Participants can also purchase a meal from Chartwells catering in advance of the event.
