Friday, Dec. 2

Town of Oakland: The Backyard at Amnicon Lake, 4505 E. Tri Lakes Road, Superior, hosts its second annual Toys for Tots meat raffle at 6 p.m. Attendees are asked to bring a new gift for a child or teenager in Douglas County. Those who bring gifts for teenage boys will be entered into a drawing for Backyard apparel.

Saturday, Dec. 3

Lake Nebagamon: Trinity Lutheran Church, 11416 E. 1st St., will host its Christmas Cookie Sale from 9-11 a.m. Cookies will be sold by the pound. For more information call Eunice at 715-817-3258 or Sherry at 218-391-3675. Coffee and cookies will be served.

Superior: Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1924 Wyoming Ave., will host a holiday vendor craft sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A selection of porch signs, rustic signs, wood plaques, lint roller holders, kids brag boards, hook and ring battle games, cornhole boards, scoreboards, trainer boards, bags and more will be available.

Superior: The Superior Douglas County YMCA hosts a free drive-thru food distribution event from 10 a.m. to noon in its south entrance driveway. The YMCA has partnered with Every Meal to provide free 4-5 lb. food bags to those in need. Four varieties are available to anyone in need.

Superior: Thirsty Pagan Brewing will host a holiday market from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Superior: Christmas Corner, a walk-through Christmas display at 2101 E. Third St., will be open between 5-8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Visitors can enjoy cookies, hot cocoa, visits with Santa, free gifts for children up to age 10 and a little something for older children. Children can also drop off letters to Santa in a large post office box at the site through Dec. 14. If a return address is left, they will receive a letter from Santa in return. Sunday, Dec. 4

Superior: A World of Accordions Museum holds a holiday concert at 2 p.m. featuring Christmas music, ensembles and solos at 1401 Belknap St. Donations encouraged.

Poplar: Seventh grade students from Northwestern Middle School will be collecting gently worn, used and new shoe donations from 9-11 a.m. along Main Street in the village of Poplar to raise funds for class field trips. Shoes must be clean and in wearable condition.

Monday, Dec. 5

Superior: The Superior Public Library hosts its Lego Club from 4-6 p.m.

Thursday, Dec. 8

Superior: The Superior Douglas County YMCA hosts a free food distribution event from 4-6 p.m. in its lobby. The YMCA has partnered with Every Meal to provide free 4- to 5-pound food bags to those in need. Four varieties are available to anyone in need.

Superior: The Superior Central High School class of 1957 will hold its monthly luncheon at 11:30 a.m. at Vintage Italian Pizza. All classmates and friends are invited to attend.

Superior: Superior High School hosts Family Wellness Night at 5:30 p.m. Free dinner will be provided. There will also be prize drawings and community organizations on hand to share their resources. Participants will also break into groups for mini-workshops. The sessions available include family yoga, art therapy and mindfulness, as well as workshops on vaping and stress skills. Saturday, Dec. 10

Superior: The Douglas County Historical Society, 1101 John Ave., hosts a craft fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Children can visit with Santa from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Superior: Junk and Disorderly and Trader’s Village of Douglas County host the Mistletoe Market from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Head of the Lakes Fairgrounds. Vendors will be on hand inside and outside the building. Attendees can roast marshmallows or hot dogs at the fire pits. Santa may also make an appearance.

Wednesday, Dec. 14

Superior: Nanas Paint Nook and Aces on 29th are teaming up to host a Holiday Paint Benefit for the Humane Society of Douglas County. The event kicks off at 6 p.m. Attendees will paint a whimsical Frosty the Snowman with their favorite dog or cat on a 12x16 canvas. The cost to participate is $40 and includes all supplies. Participants can order food and drinks from Aces at their own cost to enjoy while they paint. Proceeds from the event will benefit the humane society. Limited seats are available. Thursday, Dec. 15

Superior: Staff from Superior's Job Center of Wisconsin will be at the Superior Public Library from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Community members can get help filing for unemployment benefits or looking for a job.

A free will offering will be taken.
