Friday, Nov. 6

Superior: Free, drive-thru COVID-19 testing will take place at the AMSOIL Distribution Center, 1101 Susquehanna Ave., from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Superior: Superior Public Museums and the Richard I. Bong Veterans Historical Center will host a blood drive at the Bong Center with Memorial Blood Centers from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Donors can schedule an appointment online at www.mbc.org/searchdrives (sponsor code 4904) or contact the Bong Center at info@bongcenter.org or (715) 392-7151. Every donor will receive a coupon for discounts at the Bong Center and Superior Public Museums.

Bayfield: Free, drive-thru COVID-19 testing will take place at the Red Cliff Clinic, 36745 Aiken Road, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Lake Nebagamon: Make it Homey hosts the Lake Nebagamon Holiday Market from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lake Nebagamon Auditorium. The craft fair will feature vendors from throughout the area.

Superior: Health Care Clinic is hosting a free testing event for sexually transmitted infections from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Call 715-395-4117 to schedule a free appointment.

Monday, Nov. 9

Superior: The Small Business Development Center at UW-Superior will host a free seminar titled “First steps to starting a food product business” from 6-8 p.m. The virtual event will feature chef Arlene Coco, a long-time food business owner and culinary innovation strategist. Coco will help participants understand how to start a business before they start their journeys, including establishing a niche and conducting market research to ensure a competitive advantage; writing a business plan; learning the responsibilities and regulatory requirements of the product they produce; and recordkeeping. Superior: The Richard I. Bong American Legion Post 435 will hold a Veterans Day Flag Ceremony at 11 a.m. in front of the Richard I. Bong Veterans Historical Center, 305 E. Second St. Those attending are asked to wear masks and observe social distancing guidelines.

Iron River: Free, drive-thru COVID-19 testing will take place at the Iron River Community Center, 8275 Mill St., from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Superior: Humane Society of Douglas County and Campbell’s Lumber will host Santa Paws from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Families can bring their pets to come get a family photo taken with a holiday backdrop. Lady Jane Photography will take the photos for a donation to the Humane Society of Douglas County. Other merchandise will also be available for purchase. Masks are required upon entering the business and hand sanitizer will be available.
