Seventy-five children in grades K-4 at Cathedral Elementary School participated in a LIVE UNITED coloring contest sponsored by United Way.
The over all winner was Sam Kline, a 4th grader, whose entry is the cover of the 2008 Annual Report for the agency. Sam was honored at this year's Volunteer Appreciation and Awards Luncheon and received his award from Tom Hansen, Northland Center News' Sports Director.
First and second place winners in each grade received their awards this week. Luann LaValley, President of the United Way of Superior-Douglas County board of directors was at Cathedral to talk about United Way and present the awards.
Many of the entries were framed and given to companies as a thank you for participating in this year's United Way work place campaign.
