Three teams from Superior represented the Superior School District at the annual Battle of the Books Contest at CESA 12 in Ashland. Teams from Bryant, Great Lakes and Northern Lights elementary schools competed with 11 other teams from six school districts. Teams included:
Bryant: Brennan Morissey, Jeff Newman, Ailey Rude, Judd Erickson, Carissa Mudrak and Luke Persons; coach Jean Walsh.
Great Lakes: Heidi Gondik, Willem McClellan, Mehla Starry, Chloe Wilson, Jackson Krull, Ailee Miller; coach Nicole Moon
Northern Lights: Cal Berti, Malita Villamayor, Olivia Pennington, Niya Wilson, Jarrett Gronski, and Holly Mankoski; coach Melanie Swanson
Bryant Elementary won first place in this Northwestern Wisconsin reading competition.

Beginning in October, participants read 20 books from a select list, and correctly identified titles and authors from challenging questions presented by a panel of judges.
