The Town of Brule holds a tire, appliance, electronics and clean-up day from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Brule recycling/waste area.
Brule residents can bring one appliance and/or up to four rimless car tires at no charge. Fees will be charged for extra large tires or tires with rims.
Douglas County residents can also bring items, but fees will be charged. Costs to dispose of electronics is as follows: copier or fax, $15; personal computer, $10; TV or monitor under 19 inches, $10; TV or monitor 20 to 35 inches, $15; TV or monitor 36 inches and larger, $25; console TV, $35; large screen TV, $50; Hi-Fi console stereo, $35; typewriters, $10; VCRs and boom boxes, $5; mouse and keyboards, free. Appliances cost $10 each. Car tires, $1.50 for the first 10, $2 for 11 and up.
Acceptable items include unwanted household items, furniture and large items that are not recyclable. Cost is $20 per pick-up or trailer load. All other fees apply. No motor oil, paint, hazardous wastes or building materials will be accepted.
