For the 18 years author Dottie Lou Bolme resided on her 76-acre tract in Lakeside, Wis., she had numerous encounters with nature that thrilled and overwhelmed her.

From fawns to bears and baby raccoons, she has established brief but warm friendships with wonderful creatures that dwell or pass by her property. With her passion of taking care of everything that grows, she creates a poignant keepsake of their friendship through her new book, "Venison Stew for the Nature Lover's Spirit."

Primarily intended for nature lovers, "Venison Stew for the Nature Lover's Spirit" records Bolme's experiences with nature and its inhabitants through picturesque snapshots and short stories. Bolme loves to saunter along the nature trail of her property each morning, allowing her to witness the peculiar but breathtaking beauty of God's creation. Each photo captures the wonders of the wild and tells a story that will profoundly move the hearts of readers.

Born and raised on a farm in northern Minnesota, Dottie Lou Bolme is no stranger to the country and wild nature. Life's journey, however, took her away with a career in music for two-thirds of her adult life as an entertainer, a musician, and a recording artist.

However, country fever has beckoned her return, at will, to her country roots, back to the terrain of wilderness and the scuttle of little wild feet in a Lakeside, Wisconsin setting. Here she resides with her husband, Chuck, among their many wild and tame critter friends and the fragrance of roses and bee balm.
