The Duluth Barnes and Noble Bookstore is hosting the launch of local author Jeffrey Tucker's book, "Warmed by Windchill" at 1 p.m. Saturday, published by the University of Wisconsin Press.

The story recalls how Tucker's rescue of a nearly frozen, severely malnourished colt abandoned in a South Range pasture captured the world's attention during the brutal winter of early 2008.

Tucker blogged about his experience throughout the rescue, and the attention his site gained crashed servers before it delivered food, blankets, money and other supplies to the rescue team. It created a cheering section for Windchill from across the globe.

Proceeds from the book's sales benefit the Windchill Legacy, a local nonprofit dedicated to preventing equine neglect.
