Superior: Superior Animal Hospital and Boarding Suites invites pets and their owners to an open house from 1-4 p.m. at 36 E. Second St. Go behind the scenes to meet the staff and tour the facility. Activities include face painting, cookie decorating, giveaways, prizes, photos, live surgeries, teddy bear surgeries (bring a stuffed animal to fix up), a silent auction for pets in need and a pet costume contest.

Superior: The Douglas County Historical Society presents its fifth annual Monsteriffic Movie Matinee at 2 p.m. at 1101 John Ave. The public event includes a free screening of "Who Killed 'Doc' Robbin," cartoons and more, presented with a 16 mm projector.

A certified car seat safety technician will make sure child safety seats are installed properly and answer parents' questions or concerns about car seat safety. No appointment is necessary.
