Trick-or-treat in a world of imagination
Come to the library from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, for our ninth annual library trick-or-treat and enter a world of pure imagination. \Our Willy Wonka-themed event will feature a full cast of costumed characters, including Mr. Wonka, as well as decorated set pieces, props and tons of candy.
We'll offer special storytimes throughout the day at 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m., and you can also play bingo and win prizes. Wear your costume and bring an item for the food shelf.
This event is a Halloween tradition for kids of all ages.
Join us Tuesday, Oct. 30, at 10:30 a.m. for a special Trick-or-Treat Storytime. Wear your costume and enjoy stories and a craft before trick-or-treating around the library. Storytime continues every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. through Dec. 11.
Our new evening book club, the Superior Readers, will be discussing a spooky book for our Oct. 31 meeting. Join us to discuss "The Little Stranger" by Sarah Waters at 6 p.m. For our Nov. 28 meeting, we'll be reading "Nickel and Dimed: On (Not) Getting by in America" by Barbara Ehrenreich.
Books are available to check out at the circulation desk. All are invited to join us for lively discussion with other eager readers.
Celebrate "Book Lover's Day" with Northern Expressions Arts Collective on Nov. 6 at 11:30 a.m. Come dressed up as your favorite book character, play Book Lover's Trivia (and win prizes) and create your very own bookmark. Enjoy free movies at the library during November. We'll be showing the hit sequel "Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again" on Nov. 5. Join us Nov. 26 for "Ant Man and the Wasp."
Movies start at 6 p.m. and are both rated PG-13. Free snacks are available during the movie.
Prepare yourself for the stressful holiday season with a free yoga class at the library Nov. 17. YMCA Wellness Coordinator Jen Rosnau will lead the class through a series of yoga poses that will help you gain strength, relieve stress and increase flexibility. This all-levels class is perfect for ages 12 and up. No registration is required; bring a yoga mat and join us at 10:30 a.m.
The library will be closed Nov. 10-12 in observance of Veterans Day. We will reopen at 9 a.m. Nov. 13.
