Superior: Lake Superior Chapter of Daughters of the Revolution and Richard I. Bong American Legion Post 435 hold a flag retirement ceremony at 6 p.m. The public is invited to attend and learn the proper and respectful way to retire our old worn out American Flags. The ceremony takes place at the University of Wisconsin-Superior in the area between Old Main and Swenson Hall, using Parking Lot 12 adjacent to Weeks Avenue.

Duluth: Chad Lewis, author of books on the paranormal, talks about "Bizarre Burial Beliefs and Traditions: Nothing is as Strange as Death" noon to 1 p.m. in the Ruth Maney Room at the Depot, 506 W. Michigan St., during Lunch with the History People. Bring a bag lunch. Free.

Foxboro: Minnesota comedian Kevin Craft, who has appeared on the 2006 Last Comic Standing, CNN and the Tyra Banks Show, perform at 8 p.m. at Drifters Trail, 1565 County Road BB. Admission is free.
