Transmotion opens Parker store in Superior

The business, which opened June 24, carries hydraulic, pneumatic and air hoses as well as couplings, fittings, belts and gauges.

A new tenant has moved into the former Fastenal space at the Mariner Retail and Business Center, 69 N. 28th St. E..

Transmotion LLC, which opened June 24, offers hydraulic, pneumatic and air hoses as well as couplings, fittings, belts and gauges.

“The company feels this is a great place to be right now because there’s going to be a lot of opportunity,” branch manager Craig Faast said. “They’ve actually been looking at this market for a long time.”

The new store is open to walk-in and business-to-business sales and service from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The spot is a work in progress. Instead of filling the space with product, Faast plans to reach out to potential customers -- original equipment manufacturers, trucking companies, railroads, garages, the refinery, pipeline and more -- to find out what they need first.

Employees can make hose assemblies on site for local businesses and deliver them ready to go. If a hose breaks on the job, they can diagnose the hose and cut and crimp a replacement while the customer waits.

Transmotion LLC will also offer vendor managed inventory for local businesses, taking care of inventory and restocking for different parts needed by production lines.

The Mariner Retail and Business Center was a good fit for the company, Faast said.

“It’s a nice central location given the proximity to the harbor, the railroad hubs. The refinery’s right here; the city garage is right here,” Faast said. “It made sense because this kind of centrally located us in the heart of where a lot of our target type businesses are going to be.”

The new store currently employs two.
