A Superior native is learning and doing in Lawrence, Kansas.

Keagan Rice, an honor student at the University of Kansas, launched a small business painting houses. While he’s earned $70,000 so far with the business, he said making money isn’t his main goal; he just wants to make his clients happy with their homes while building a network of people in the area.

Ultimately, Rice said, his goal is to start his own law firm specializing in child custody matters after he struggled with parents who were separated. The college sophomore said running the small business now will give him the skills he needs to make that dream a reality.

A 2019 graduate of Superior High School, Rice said he grew up playing hockey, baseball and basketball in Superior.
