Elizabeth Simonson has been named Duluth Major Gifts Officer for St. Paul-based Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota. Simonson will be working in the Lutheran Social Service office in Duluth.

Across Minnesota, Lutheran Social Service offers a wide range of social services with support from 2,200 employees and 6,000 volunteers working toward the organization's vision that all people can live and work in a community with safety, dignity, and hope.

Simonson comes to Lutheran Social Service from St. Luke's Foundation in Duluth after 10 years as a development associate. At St. Luke's Foundation she raised individual gifts, managed the St. Luke's annual employee contribution campaign, and was responsible for events, direct mail appeals and increasing the annual fund.

She has also served as ARC Northland's Special Events Coordinator, coordinating 50-plus volunteers.

In her new position with LSS, Simonson will be working closely with donors on major gifts to sustain and expand the mission of service to Minnesota's most vulnerable citizens, including children, homeless youth, frail elderly and people with disabilities.
