Republican U.S. Senate candidate Mark Neumann brought two small pigs to the Milwaukee Press Club Monday, to highlight his case against pork-barrel spending.
Neumann says the small pigs are from a Wisconsin farm. For part of a forum at the Milwaukee press club he held one of the pigs, which did some squealing. Neumann calls the pig Mr. Favors.
Neumann says Republican and Democrats are both guilty of wasteful spending, but he says senate contender and current house Democrat Tammy Baldwin and President Barack Obama have government spending at unsustainable levels. A Baldwin campaign spokesperson directed media to state Democratic Party spokesman Graeme Zielinski for a response. Zielienski says mark Neumann's solar energy business accepted stimulus money.
Neumann has argued the federal money was a Bush administration tax credit program that President Obama converted to stimulus dollars. Neumann faces three other contenders in the Republican senate primary, including former Governor Tommy Thompson.
