Caribou Coffee will open its first Superior shop, Caribou Cabin, at 2215 E. Second St. on July 16, according to the company’s media relations. At just under 600 square feet, the cabin offers drive-thru and walk-up windows, but no interior seating.

The store will employ one general manager and 17 employees. It will operate seven days a week, opening at 5:30 a.m. weekdays, 6 a.m. on weekends and closing daily at 8 p.m. For every visit during its grand opening weekend, Caribou Coffee has pledged to donate $1 to the Center Against Sexual and Domestic Abuse.

There are currently six Caribou Coffee locations in Duluth, and the University of Wisconsin-Superior brews Caribou Coffee at Jacket Java in the YellowJacket Union.

This will be the company's first Superior store. Founded in 1992, the company operates more than 300 locations nationwide and operates franchise stores in 11 countries.
