The secret is in the signature sauce.

For Keith White and Jamar Kirk, it’s also a new opportunity. The partners came together to launch the new Stop N Go Pizza at 1908 Tower Ave. in Superior.

The family-run operation offers appetizers, pizza, calzones and sandwiches for people to take home to enjoy. The business opened its doors Nov. 20, using the space and equipment purchased from the Sammy’s Pizza location that closed there this year.

“I’ve always liked to cook,” White said. “So this is a blessing.”

White does most of the cooking, including making in-house signature sauces, Kirk said.

“The sweet chili pineapple is the No. 1 seller so far,” Kirk said. “We have coming in a close second the Italian beef pizza and the Italian beef sub as the most popular right now."

Other in-house sauces include hot buffalo, barbecue, lemon pepper, parmesan garlic and sweet onion jerk, giving take-out a distinct flavor.

“We’ve been growing every day, getting a lot of support from the community,” Kirk said. “We’ve had a lot of new and returning customers. The word is getting out.”

Currently the business is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. However, they hope to add more hours on the weekends once the business is fully staffed, Kirk said. He said they are working with the Superior Workforce Center to fill needed positions.

Kirk said his goal is to make Stop N Go Pizza a part of family traditions.

“Usually, people gather around on pizza night … and we want to be part of that,” Kirk said. “We provide great food and great service.”
