Free landfill days

The city of Superior will offer free landfill days from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday and April 26 at the landfill located on Moccasin Mike Road. Items that will be accepted include household trash, brush, five tires 18 inches in diameter or smaller per residence, grass clippings, leaves and used motor oil. Regular fees will apply for mattresses and box springs - $10 each if completely dry and fairly clean, $13 each if damp or heavily soiled.
All loads must be covered during transport to avoid littering; all loose items must be tied or bagged. The free landfill use is for city of Superior residents and individual households only; no contractors, landlords or business owners.
Items in good repair can be dropped off for no charge at the REUSE center. Recycling and disposal options for items not accepted at the landfill, which include construction materials, electronics, appliances, batteries, fluorescent bulbs, household hazardous waste and recyclables, are available online at www.ci.superior.wi.us/landfill or by calling 715-398-7222.
