Engwall Wolff’s Flower Shop at 1315 Tower Ave. in Superior will close for good at 5 p.m. July 31 as operations are merged with Engwall Florists, Greenhouses and Garden Centers in Duluth at 4749 Hermantown Road.
The closure comes as 90 percent of the Superior store’s sales come online or over the phone, according to the company.
“Far fewer people walk into bank lobbies anymore; they bank online. They shop online, and they send flowers the same way,” Engwall president Rod Saline said in a news release. “Starting Aug. 1, Superior residents will still be able to call the same 392-4711 number and log on to Engwalls.com as they always have.”
Employees at the store, which has been open since 1975, will join the Duluth operation.
