The board of directors for the Duluth Art Institute named Kat Eldred as its interim executive director after accepting the resignation of Kristin Duckart on April 30.
Eldred begins her new role immediately.
Duckart was hired in December as executive director, after long-time Executive Director Samantha Gibb-Roff took a position at the University of Pennsylvania.
A search committee will be formed later this year to find a permanent executive director for 2013.
The Governance Committee asked Board Secretary, Kat Eldred, to step in during the two weeks prior to the May 16 board meeting. At the May 16 board meeting, the board voted to retain Eldred as the interim executive director during this time of transition. Eldred will step down from the Governance Committee and relinquish her role as board secretary during the interim period.
