BNSF Railway has decided to give property owners one of two options to clean taconite dust from their homes, according to BNSF spokeswoman Courtney Wallace
Impacted homeowners can continue to receive an annual reimbursement with receipt of a power-washing service and proof of ownership; or they can receive a one-time reimbursement for the purchase of a power washer, she said.
“BNSF’s intent is always to be a good neighbor,” Wallace said.
The decision was reached with feedback from Superior City Councilor Jenny Van Sickle, U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin, D-Wis., state Rep. Nick Milroy, D-South Range and state Sen. Janet Bewley, D-Mason, Wallace said.
