Rascal’s Professional Pet Grooming opened its doors in 2015, offering haircuts, bathing, deshedding treatments, hypoallergenic care and walk-in nail trims at the cozy salon, situated in the back of the former Ross Paints building.

Now, pet owners can get the same services in a new location with more room and additional staff to help pamper pets. Rascal’s moved to 119 Belknap St.

For pet owners who don’t mind giving their pooch a bath, but just don’t have a good place to do it, there’s now an option to do it yourself at Rascal’s, owner Crystal Broderson said. But if customers prefer to leave it to the professionals, there are more staff to do the job. Broderson said the new location has allowed her to double her staff; now there are four professionals to lend a hand.

The public is invited to take a look around during an open house from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is also planned for 4 p.m. Monday.

During the open house, Broderson said there will be a sale, self-bathing lessons, free nail trims, giveaways, and the public can tour the space and meet the staff.

“We have technically been there since last year, but with road construction and some new features we added to the business with the new location, we felt it appropriate to wait a bit to hold the event,” said Jeremy Broderson, Crystal’s husband.

“Business has picked up since the construction has finished,” Crystal said.
