Superior Fire Capt. Joe Tribbey has been named interim director of Lake Superior College's Emergency Response Training Center. Tribbey has served as a faculty member in LSC's fire services degree programs since 2013, and has provided instruction and advisement for students and rural fire departments in the region through LSC's Customized Training division. Tribbey will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the facility's firefighting and emergency response training.

Some ways volunteers support hospice are by offering companionship, housework, yardwork, caregiver respite, office skills, any talents or skills like playing musical instruments or an ability to speak a patient's native language.
Senior Connections is looking for 50 community members to deliver a meal to a senior next month. The 2018 March for Meals raises awareness of the Meals for Wheels program and Douglas County residents who depend on it. In 2017, the program delivered more than 37,000 Meals on Wheels to Douglas County residents and served more than 11,000 meals at its dining sites.
