Two power-play goals and an empty-netter helped UW-Stout defeat the University of Wisconsin-Superior men’s hockey team 5-3 Friday night at Wessman Arena.
Spartans shut down second straight opponent
The Spartans return four of their top six scorers from last year’s team, but those players combined to score just 14 goals (15 assists) on a team that finished with a record of 3-20-1.

Krueger, who was born on May 28, 1929 in Milwaukee, served as head coach at UWS from 1984-87, compiling a record of 5-36-1 and 3-28-1 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
Under the guidance of new head coach Rich McKenna the Yellowjackets defeated Northland College 9-2 Friday night and the Finlandia Lions 10-3 Saturday.
