Three teams officially share the Heart O’ North Conference football title this season, but for the WIAA playoffs only one champion can be named.
On Monday, Superior High School will debut its new bell schedule, which will have students beginning class earlier four days of the week but later on Wednesdays.
The Tigers were awarded the No. 5 seed for the WIAA Division 4 playoffs and will be play at No. 4 St. Croix Central at 7 p.m. Friday.
New daily start times could be coming to Superior High School, but the change is expected to have a larger impact on teachers than students.

The resolution calls for districts with low per pupil revenue limits-- defined as less than 95 percent of the state average -- to be granted an exception to current rules.

Good news turned into better news this month for the Superior school district, and for taxpayers. After issuing $52.5 million in debt in June — the first round of bonds for the recently passed $92.5 million referendum — the Superior School Board approved an additional $26.5 million in bonds Sept. 13. Interest rates had been low in June, but they fell even lower this month and will yield a savings of about $4 million to taxpayers over the life of the debt. "It's like a Christmas present every month," said Board member Craig Peterson.
